Click Button to Update Java Plug-In
The Problem
Due to the litigation with Sun Microsystems, Microsoft has begun the gradual removal of the Microsoft Virtual Machine (its version of the Java Virtual Machine) from its web site and all service packs. Java Virtual Machine is the power behind our slideshows.
Some of our customers have reported that they cannot view our slideshows. They receive an error message that says, "Internet Explorer 6.0 does not support Java runtime". This means that they need to update their Java Virtual Machine and the only place to get the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is the Sun web site.
By
updating the Java Virtual Machine, you will not only be able to view our
slideshows but also many other applications on the Internet. If you have Java
Virtual Machine on your computer it is called "Java Plug-in"
and you can find it under
Control Panel - Java Plug-in.
The Solution
To remedy the "runtime error", click on the Java Button at the top of the page and follow the instructions to receive your free Java update. If you do not find the Java Plug-in (Java Virtual Machine) update after clicking on the above button, there is an alternate solution below.
Alternate Solution
Connect to the Internet.
Enter the Control Panel on your computer and find the Java Plug-in icon.
Double click on the Java Plug-in icon.
The Java Plug-in Control Panel opens up and there are tabs at the top.
Click on the tab that says Update.
On the Update page click on the button that says Update Now.
A Java Icon will appear in the lower right hand corner of your screen near the time. If you move your mouse over the Java icon it will show you the percentage of download that has been completed.
When download is complete your Java is updated and you should be able to view our slideshows without a problem.
